Geoffrey has more than 37 years’ experience in complex cross-border litigation, arbitration and city business disputes, particularly in banking and international trade. He also has substantial experience of arbitrations under the rules of the ICC, LCIA and LME. He has been an equity partner in a number of pre-eminent law firms in the city of London.
Geoffrey has represented a vast number of blue chip, corporates over his career, including DaimlerChrysler Corporation. He has also represented GE Healthcare in a significant defamation case which, was extensively reported in The Sunday Times, concerning a gadodiamide based contrast agent, used in MR imaging procedures to assist in the visualisation of blood vessels.
Geoffrey has also represented a number of Russian clients in claims involving expropriation of strategic assets in multi-party cross-border litigation in France, BVI, Cyprus and London.
He has also acted in complex multi jurisdiction litigation involving, shareholder disputes, breach of joint venture agreements, with substantial jurisdiction challenges both in England and the BVI.
A fluent French and Italian speaker, Geoffrey has been ranked in Chambers and Legal 500 as a leading practitioner in complex litigation. He is much published and is a consultant editor of the Journal of International Banking and Finance Law.
